Biodegradable Wood-Pulp Non-Woven for Medical Use

Wood-pulp non-wovens combine cellulose fibres with synthetic binders to produce a soft, highly absorbent material widely used in hospital bed sheets, examination drapes and incontinence pads. The cellulose component allows aerobic composting in 30–60 days under industrial conditions.

Performance properties

Tensile strength 18–22 N/5cm (machine direction), absorbency 6× weight, basis weight 30–80 gsm. The composite resists tearing during clinical handling while remaining gentle on patient skin.
